How It Works
Seeking support for your child can feel overwhelming. We've designed our process to make getting started as simple, supportive, and reassuring as possible.

Step 1 -Free 15-minute Consultation
Your journey begins with a complimentary 15-minute telephone or online consultation.
This is an opportunity for us to:
-
Understand your main concerns
-
Answer any questions you may have
-
Explain how we work
-
Decide whether our therapeutic approach is the right fit for your family
There is no obligation to proceed following the consultation.
.
Step 2-Comprehensive Assessment
If we decide to work together, the next step is a comprehensive assessment.
This enables us to gain a thorough understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, developmental history, relationships, and the wider family context.
Together, we will explore:
-
Your child's current difficulties
-
Family relationships and dynamics
-
Previous assessments or therapeutic support
-
Your hopes and goals for therapy
-
The level of support that is realistic and appropriate for your family
What's Included
✔ Comprehensive parent & child assessment
✔ Behavioural and emotional assessment
✔ Clinical formulation of your child's difficulties
✔ Identification of maintaining factors
✔ Personalised treatment plan
✔ Written recommendations
✔ Home and school recommendations where appropriate
✔ Costed treatment pathway
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed treatment plan outlining the most appropriate treatment pathway for your family. This may include parent training, child therapy, family work, school consultation, or a combination of approaches. Recommendations are tailored to your child's specific needs and challenges.

Step 3 -Your Personalised
Therapeutic Pathway
Once you have received your clinical formulation and treatment plan, we will answer any questions you may have and agree together on the most appropriate way forward. Your child's therapeutic pathway will be individually designed around their needs, strengths and circumstances. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all programme, we draw upon the assessment to determine which combination of therapeutic support is most likely to help your child and family.
Your Therapeutic Pathway May Include:
✓ Individual child or teen therapy
✓ ADHD-informed therapeutic support
✓ Anxiety-focused therapy
✓ PDA-informed support
✓ Emotional regulation and behavioural work
✓ Individual parenting sessions
✓ Structured parenting programmes
✓ Parent and child sessions
✓ Family work
✓ School consultation and recommendations, where appropriate
Working Together for Lasting Change
Every child and family is different, so the support we recommend will be tailored to your child’s individual needs. For some children, individual therapy will be the main focus. For others, the most effective approach may be to combine your child’s therapy with support for you as a parent.
Where appropriate, 1:1 child therapy can run alongside one of our parenting programmes. This helps ensure that everyone is working towards shared goals, with the understanding and skills developed in therapy reinforced at home. By connecting the work inside and outside the therapy room, we can help create meaningful and lasting change.
We will review progress throughout our work together and adapt the therapeutic plan as your child’s needs develop.
Once you feel comfortable with the recommended pathway, therapy can begin.
