ADHD Support
Following your Family Assessment & Clinical Treatment Plan, your child will begin a personalised programme of 1:1 therapy tailored to their individual strengths, needs, and treatment goals. Parent support sessions may also be included within the clinical plan, where appropriate, to help you understand and respond to your child’s needs, develop practical strategies for use at home, and support consistency and progress beyond the therapy sessions.

Who We Work With
Our ADHD support can be particularly helpful for children and young people who experience:
-
Difficulty with attention, concentration or staying on task
-
Impulsivity or acting before thinking
-
Emotional dysregulation and intense emotional reactions
-
Frequent frustration, anger or overwhelm
-
Difficulty starting, organising or completing tasks
-
Problems with routines, transitions and everyday demands
-
Low motivation or difficulty engaging with things that don't hold their interest
-
Forgetfulness and difficulties with working memory
-
Friendship or social difficulties
-
Conflict at home or school
-
Low self-esteem or feeling that they are always “getting things wrong”
-
Anxiety, perfectionism or rejection sensitivity alongside ADHD
ADHD can affect much more than concentration. It can influence a young person's emotions, relationships, confidence, behaviour and everyday family life. We look beyond the diagnosis to understand the individual child and the particular areas in which they are struggling.
Sometimes the most effective way to support a child is to support their parents alongside them. Where appropriate, your child's individual therapy can be combined with one of our parenting programmes, helping the whole family understand what's happening and work towards positive change together. This means the skills and progress developed in therapy can be supported at home too — creating meaningful, lasting change both inside and beyond the therapy room.
Our Approach
Our approach is practical, creative and ADHD-informed. Rather than focusing on what a child is doing “wrong”, we help them understand how their ADHD brain works, recognise the things they find difficult and discover strategies that work for them.
Sessions are adapted to the child's age, interests and attention needs and can include therapeutic games, creative activities, visual tools, emotional regulation work, problem-solving and practical skills. We don't expect children with ADHD to sit still and talk for an hour in the way an adult might.
We can also work with parents to help them understand ADHD-related behaviour, reduce conflict and develop realistic approaches to boundaries, routines, communication and emotional regulation.
The aim isn't to make a child less ADHD, it's to help them understand themselves, develop the skills they need and feel more confident navigating a world that doesn't always work naturally for them.

What Children & Young People Learn
ADHD support can help children and young people to develop greater self-understanding, emotional awareness and practical skills for everyday life.
They will also learn to:
-
Understand their ADHD and how it affects them personally
-
Recognise their strengths as well as the things they find difficult
-
Identify triggers for frustration, overwhelm and emotional reactions
-
Develop strategies for managing strong emotions
-
Pause and respond more effectively when feeling impulsive
-
Find practical ways to approach organisation, routines and tasks
-
Communicate their needs more confidently
-
Navigate friendships, conflict and social situations
-
Recover from mistakes and setbacks without becoming overwhelmed
-
Develop greater self-acceptance and confidence
Most importantly, we want children and young people to move away from feeling “there's something wrong with me” and towards understanding “my brain works differently, and I can learn what helps me.”
